National Flag Day

Our National Flag is our identity, a symbol of pride, sacrifice and unity. Yet, one question remains: why do we still not have an official National Flag Day?

This question continues to guide Shri Naveen Jindal, Founder and President of the Flag Foundation of India, who has led the cause for the Tiranga and believes it is time for change.
The Turning Point

A right earned for every Indian

There was a time when Indians did not have the freedom to hoist the National Flag every day.

That changed on 23 January 2004, when a historic Supreme Court judgment, following a decade-long legal battle led by Shri Naveen Jindal, secured this right for every citizen.

From that day onward, every Indian earned the freedom to hoist the Tiranga 365 days a year.
